Vacation Unplug Days

Vacation Unplug Days

What is the Vacation Unplug Days Module?

The Vacation Unplug Days module is a management tool that allows organizations to designate specific days when employees cannot request regular vacation leave. These Unplug Days are company-provided days meant to encourage employees to dedicate time to their families. On these days, only sick leave can be requested, ensuring compliance with the company's work-life balance initiatives.

How to Add and Manage Unplug Days

Administrators can manage Unplug Days directly through the module, ensuring that these special dates are consistently updated in the system. To add or remove an Unplug Day, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Home Screen and click "Menu" (top left)
  2. Navigate to the Control Panel
  3. Open the Admin Menu
  4. Select "Vacation Unplug Days"
  5. Add or remove dates as necessary

How the Module Works in the System

When an employee attempts to request vacation on an Unplug Day, the system will automatically block the request and display the following message:

Attention: [date] is an Unplug Day. This company-designated day is for employees to spend time with their families. It is blocked in OBS, so only sick leave can be requested.

Why Companies Implement Unplug Days

*Unplug Days* are designed to foster work-life balance and prevent burnout. By providing structured breaks for employees, organizations can:

  • Encourage quality time with family and personal well-being
  • Maintain a transparent and fair leave policy
  • Promote a healthier work culture that prioritizes mental and emotional well-being

By effectively using the Vacation Unplug Days module, companies ensure that employees receive the benefits of these designated breaks while maintaining structured leave policies.
